Our About the Brain Booklet was developed as part of a collaboration with PEACE. This booklet aims to cover:
The booklet also aims to provide a quick "snapshot" of information on brain differences seen in Autistic relative to neurotypical people, as well as the impact an eating disorder may have on the brain. We hope to inform members of the lived experience community, researchers, clinicians and carers on the benefits and interesting findings that neuroimaging research are able to provide.
The booklet was developed over a two-week period, in which EDAC's neuroimaging-based team member travelled to King's College London to work on brain imaging data with the PEACE lab. A conversation was had about how while findings on brain imaging research can be really interesting, they are often not developed with a non-research audience in mind! Thus, this booklet hopes to avoid providing an overly-technical explanation of brain imaging research in this field, and also explore some examples on how this research may apply to an individual's day-to-day life.
